Tower Ballroom, New Brighton

 



After playing at the Cavern Club at lunchtime, the Beatles moved over to the Tower Ballroom, New Brighton, Wallasey, Merseyside L45 to perform in a 5 1/2 hour, 12 act extravaganza, promoted by Brian Epstein, with the American Little Richard topping the bill, with the Beatles second. Brian Epstein's NEMS Enterprises had outbid Sam Leach for the booking of Little Richard to perform at the Tower Club.

The other acts that performed that night were The Mersey Beats, The Four Jays, Billy Kramer with the Coasters, The Big Three, Lee Curtis and the All Stars (with Pete Best as their new drummer !), Pete Maclaine with the Dakotas, The Undertakers(Jackie Lomax - Lead Singer), Rory Storm and the Hurricanes and  Guy Travis and the Midnighters.

The compare for the evening was Bob Wooler
