The Beatles first appearance at the Music Hall, Shrewsbury, Shropshire promoted at Lewis Buckley Entertainments Ltd. Lewis Buckley booked the Beatles to play at a number of venues during their playing career and this venue was where all the top acts appeared.

Dancing from 8pm - 1am at a price of either 6/- in advance or 6/6d at the door on the evening of the event. The Beatles were billed as the 'Parlophone Hit Recorders of "Love Me Do". Also playing were Gary B. Goode and the Rocking Hotrods and the Deltas.

Love Me do was released in October and peaked at No. 17 in the U.K.Singles charts.
