Ticket for the Beatles performance at  Stowe School

After recording a third series of Side by Side at the BBC Paris Sudio in London, the Beatles headed west to Roxburgh Hall, Stowe School, Stowe, Buckinghamshire, a public school for boys, to fulfill an engagement that had been arranged between a pupil at the school and Brian Epstein.

In January of that year, a pupil  from Liverpool called David Moores( who later became chairman of Liverpool Football Club) wrote to Brian Epstein asking if the Beatles would come and play at the school for the sum of GPB100. This was a rather large sum at the time and Brian agreed to the booking.

The Beatles played at the Roxburgh Hall, starting at 5.30pm, in front of an audience of only boys !! After the concert the Beatles had a meal, that had been prearranged, chatted with some of the pupils in the assembly hall and visited the headmaster in his study.
